Announcing the first-ever Virginia Talent Awards, facilitated by Virginia Works! These 10 awards highlight the incredible contributions of dynamic employers and practitioners across Virginia’s workforce ecosystem. Nominations are open until Monday, August 18th at 5 pm via the employer and staff member/partner forms below. Awardees will be announced at this fall’s Together for Talent employer summit on September 17th with Governor Glenn Youngkin. You may submit multiple nominations. Workforce Innovation Award:
Honors an employer or business that has implemented a creative strategy or technology to solve talent shortages or improve workforce outcomes.
Second Chance Champion:
Celebrates an employer that offers meaningful employment opportunities to individuals with barriers to employment, such as returning citizens or those in recovery.
Emerging Workforce Leader (Small Business):
Recognizes a small business (under 100 employees) making a big impact in workforce development despite limited resources.
Veteran Workforce Opportunity Champion:
Honors an employer that recognizes the unique value of Veterans and actively recruits, supports, and retains them in meaningful careers. This award is for companies that connect military experience to career success and create a welcoming workplace for Veteran employees.
Champion of Employee Advancement:
Celebrates an employer where employee development is a core value, reflected in career ladders, skill-building programs, and leadership opportunities. This award recognizes employers that provide clear career pathways and consistently invest in employee growth through training, education, mentorship, and advancement opportunities.
