Welcome to Virginia Works’ Registered Apprenticeship Program! If you are a Virginia employer trying to find highly skilled workers, we are here to help you – every step of the way. Setting up a Registered Apprenticeship program gives you a valuable talent pipeline you can rely on.
A Virginia Works Registered Apprenticeship Consultant will work one-on-one with you, helping you meet your hiring goals. We provide end-to-end guidance and connect you with the resources you need to build your workforce.
Your program is completely customizable to meet your business needs. Better yet, our services are free, and registration is a simple four-step process. After reviewing the instructional video, you can reach out to us via this form to be contacted by a Registered Apprenticeship Consultant to work with you to create your new Registered Apprenticeship Program.
How Do I Get Started with Apprenticeship?
1.
Confirm Eligibility
Your Registered Apprenticeship Consultant (RAC) will ensure your company’s eligibility through the State Apprenticeship Minimum Standards.
2.
Create Work
Process Schedule
You and your RAC will create a Work Process Schedule, a detailed outline of what your apprentice will learn on the job.
3.
Create Related
Technical
Instruction Plan
You’ll work with your RAC to put together Related Technical Instruction, a classroom-based learning plan that complements the apprentice’s on-the-job training.
4.
Register Program
on R.A.P.I.D.S. Database
Finally, you’ll officially register your apprenticeship program by completing and uploading just four forms to your account in our R.A.P.I.D.S. database.
With these four simple steps, your Registered Apprenticeship Program will be up and running. When you are ready to start identifying potential apprenticeship candidates, we can help with that, too.
